Age Requirement: 18 and up

Class Description
Now that you know the basic steps to making a stained glass suncatcher, let's do something a little bigger! Once again, everything will be provided for you WITH THE EXCEPTION OF YOUR GLASS.
This course consists of THREE sessions of 2.5 hours each. In addition, beginning the day of your first class through the day of your final class, you will have use of the classroom and any tools needed to work on your project(s). Open studio sessions MUST be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance via phone or email.
Come into the shop BEFORE your first class session and we will help you select one of our SIX patterns and the perfect glass for your design and budget (typical glass cost is approx. $35-$50, but can vary depending on your choices). You may not bring in your own pattern for this class. The 6 patterns we use are selected especially for the types of cuts and assembly process that a beginner will need.
In this workshop, we will focus on creating a square piece with a repetitive geometric pattern and border. You will use a strip-cutter and a flat-lapidary grinder, in addition to the tools used in the SG 101 course. You will also learn how to accurately square up your project and frame with zinc came for a nice clean finish.
**A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF HAND STRENGTH IS REQUIRED WHEN CUTTING GLASS. IF YOU FEEL THIS COULD BE A CONCERN FOR YOU (ie. hand tremor or arthritis) PLEASE CONTACT US BEFORE REGISTERING FOR THE CLASS.
